For those who laughed at my opening day post, you should know that I saw six deer and shot at a big doe. I of course missed but that is beside the point. The point is stop reading all of those expensive magazines and come here instead. I won't let you down and I'm free!!
Take care my friends and happy hunting!

OPENING DAY
This is going to be a short one because I'm off to bed so I can wake up early for opening day of deer season tomorrow.
Here is my advice about opening day of deer season for the poor man. Take all of that stuff you read in magazines and forget about it. Don't even bother to buy those expensive magazines and books. The techniques and tactics may work fine if you can afford private land and guided hunts where you know some other hunter isn't going to sit his butt 20 yards away from you and ruin all of that pre-scouting nonsense you did. If you are stuck hunting public land like I am you know that opening day is a swarming chaos of blaze orange, gun fire and glimpses of white flags running every which way full speed.
The best thing you can do is find the highest hill in the middle of it all and hope for the best. Pick a spot where you can watch the show from above.I have done this for years and usually manage to bag one. I think the deer have the same idea!
